Entering early of 2016 tinplate market condition is getting better for Latinusa, it is seen on increasing of sales volume about 20.7% on 1Q 2016 if compared with the same quarter of last year, although sales revenue slightly down around 1.23% on 1Q 2016 if compared with the same quarter of last year however Latinusa still dominating tinplate market share in Indonesia.
1st half of 2016 Latinusa has booked profit with comprehensive income as much as USD 746 thousand drastically increased 137% if compared with the same period of last year with income comprehensive amounted to negative USD 2.037 thousand. although net sales experienced decrease about 10% if compared with the same period on 2015, however gross profit increase around 34% from USD 3.229 thousand on 1st half of 2015 become USD 4.314 thousand on the same period of 2016.
Although net sales revenue slightly decreased if compared with the same quarter of last year, however up to 3rd quarter of 2016, Latinusa able to get net profit as much as USD 1,770 thousand, which is better than if compared with the same quarter of last year with has booked loss as much as USD 6,610 thousand.

Competitive business condition currently still continue to be a challenges for Latinusa. The onslaught of import tinplate product with very competitive price flooding into domestic market which significantly affected on Latinusa’s sales performance of 1Q 2015 with booked USD 35,680 thousand, has decreased if compared with the same quarter of 2014 as much as USD 46,420 thousand.
Up to the 1H 2015 global economic is still experiencing a decline which resulted in declining of market demand such as industrial property sectors, food and beverages, also automotive. Declining market demand in this sectors resulted a decreased tinplate demand on 1H 2015, however Latinusa still able to maintain tinplate market share in the range of 64%.
Up to 3rd quarter of 2015 reduced demand of tinplate and also import prices which still very competitive still coloring tinplate domestic market in Indonesia, it is resulting Latinusa sales revenue up to 3rd quarter of 2015 decreased if compared to last year on the same quarter. Resulting of sales revenue up to this quarter reached USD 104,623 thousand reduced by about USD 19,227 thousand if compared with sales revenue up to 3rd quarter of 2014 which was reached USD 123,850 thousand.

2014 is the year for Latinusa successfully make the efforts of submission an anti-dumping petition to the Government, namely has issued of the Finance Minister Regulation which determined on January 15th 2014 which effective valid after 30 days commencing from the date enacted. This effort is done, due to of the attacks imported products with very competitive price which impact pressing profit of Latinusa.
1H 2014 showed world tinplate market trend was decline, as a result of decreasing demand which cause decreasing market tinplate price, showed on net sales on 1H 2014 as much as USD 88,232 thousand, if compared with the same semester on last year as much as USD 89,866 thousand.
Up to the 3rd quarter tinplate sales amount decreased if compared with the same quarter of last year around USD 129,491 thousand on 3rd quarter of last year become USD 123,850 thousand on the same quarter this year, this situation caused due to competitive tinplate import price, so that Latinusa have difficulties to sale tinplate on domestic market.

In early 2013 is a new step for the implementation of Latinusa’s strategy to fix losses in 2012, proved it in the 1Q of 2013 Latinusa has booked profit with net sales as much as 552 thousand US dollars compared to the same quarter in 2012 which booked losses of 1,536 thousand US dollars.
On 1H 2013 our sales has experienced increase particularly before the Idul Fitri Feast Day so that tinplate demand particularly on food segment experienced increase. Furthermore Latinusa has implemented QCDD (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Development) and also market penetration so that sales target can reached on 1H.
Unpredictable condition on this 3rd quarter, which exchange rate fluctuation has free fallen makes Latinusa experienced loss about USD 1,071 thousand. However, this loss still better than if compared with the same quarter of last year which has fallen down up to USD 6,944 thousand.
The beginning of 2012 still remains of impact from global financial crisis, which caused our net sales decreased about 7% from same quarter on 2011. Gross profit showed increase about 21% if compare with last year due to COGS reduced as a result from decreasing of sales tonnage which reached 22,998 MT. This situation has caused by import tinplate flooded into domestic market with competitive price, so that we have difficulties to sell in domestic market.
Up to 3Q 2012 was Latinusa’s efforted to face of tinplate import attacks as impact of global crisis.Latinusa has booked loss about Rp. 44,280 billion which were net sales declined from Rp. 998,280 billion.
Since beginning of 2010 raw material price has increased, especially tin which price has increased nearly 70% for the last one year. Besides this, due to very competitive price offered by import material, it was very difficult for us to adjust our sales price. Our net income for 1Q – 2011 is IDR 2.7 billion, dropped by 90% compared to 1Q – 2010 but only 13% compared to 4Q – 2010.
Increase of raw material price which has happened since beginning of 2010, has showed signs of deceleration, eventhough so we haven’t been able to adjust our selling price according to raw material price increase. As such, although our sales tonnage only decreased by 12.2% compared to 1H – 2010, that is decreased to 50,938 ton, our net income is pressed down to Rp 3.3 billion, decreased by 94% compared to 1H – 2010.
The Global recession who has plagued several countries like in Europe, USA and Thailand currently lead to uncertain market conditions. There are a lot of demand needs especially foods can packaging from those countries drastically decreased, which caused tinplate demand decreased, it resulted tinplate producer like in China and Thailand has changed their sales strategy into Asia especially to Indonesia.
